Lintulampi residents’ association (registered association) in a nutshell:

In Oulu, there are 13 residents’ houses (‘asukastupa’ in Finnish), that are like a neighbourhood association or clubhouse, and their doors are open to everyone. The Lintulampi residents’ house is located in Höyhtyä shopping centre.

The Lintulampi residents’ association gathers together the area’s residents in order to enhance the community feeling of the area and well-being of its residents. It represents the expert knowledge of the area on behalf of its residents, and provides access to the public services for residents of all ages. It also distributes information, provides counselling services, and organises educational and recreational activities. It communicates with other active communities within its area. The budget for the year 2010 is over a million. The association has between 50 and 60 staff members.

The Lintulampi residents’ house is a place where you can visit with others, have a cup of coffee or tea and eat some pastries, or read a newspaper. There are three computers with internet connection and word processing programs to use free of charge. You can print or take photocopies (price list below).
